I had asked there about a similar issue with the public forum (see the first link under "More Like This" to the right), and received nearly immediate assistance.

Due to targeted spam attacks that occurred about a month ago, we implemented a safeguard where any post on the forum will require moderation if it includes a hyperlink to an external website. If you post a hyperlink, it will need to be moderated before it appears. This may also be true for attachments, although I'm not certain about that.

In my understanding, this applies equally to public posts as well as private posts.
