So I want to use the ADAU1701 is self boot mode with external EEPROM. I have got Sigma Studio but I have no idea how to configure it to download the program without an USBi converter. Is it possible to just export the code as a .hex file and write this to the EEPROM with a basic EEPROM programmer? I find this way of only using the USBi difficult expensive and unnecessary.

Basically I want a ADAU1701 in circuit with the EEPROM. I add a jumber so I can write to the EEPROM in circuit then put it back power it and works!

How do I use Sigma studio to write to the EEPROM?

Thanks

Currently the only supported method for programming a self-boot EEPROM is using the USBi programmer. We also have a guide that shows you how to export the file as plain text hex data here: https://ez.analog.com/message/5759#5759

Some users have found workarounds for converting this data to more convenient formats for using with general purpose EEPROM programmers. Here is a thread containing some relevant information: https://ez.analog.com/message/24635#24635

The datasheet also contains a full explanation of the EEPROM data format, so if you have an EEPROM downloader and a text editor, you should be able to generate the proper data using the datasheet as a guide, along with the output hex file from SigmaStudio.
