I was noticing that the peak limiter block has parameters that is changed via the program (not by myself). Is this normal behaviour? How many other blocks performs similar changes without host processor input?

example parameter:

Param Address:0x022D

Param Name:StereoPeak_StResHiRange_NoExt_NoPos1X_lo_24

Cell Name:OutLimiter

Param Data:0x00, 0x45, 0xA2, 0xA0

Hi Natan,

In this very rare case, the limiter is using parameter memory to store a variable that it is using during operation. In almost all cases, intermediate variables used by the algorithm are stored in data memory, but sometimes we can achieve greater code efficiency by storing variables in parameter memory (although that sometimes confuses users!).

You can see on the wiki ( https://wiki.analog.com/resources/tools-software/sigmastudio/toolbox/dynamicsprocessors/limiter ) that the limiter is a rare case in that it has many parameters that are internal variable storage. These are listed as "Internal parameter. Do not modify." in the DSP Parameter Information section.

Thanks,

Brett
