Connecting serial data to other ICs in Sigma App
Hello,
I have 3 ADAU1761's in a single project. Design requirements call for summing of 3 signals into a single output. I have made this work already on a shipping product by daisy chaining sdataout1 to sdatain2, sdataout2 to sdatain3, and performing the sum of 1,2&3 in IC3.
What I'd like to do is to be able to connect them in the Sigma schematic so I can assure myself the right signals are being combined.
Failing that, is there a way to draw lines on the schematic to indicate the source and destination of each serial port?
Thanks for any help you can offer.
sincerely
chuckwin
Hi chuckwin,
Sorry, I didn't see this question when you first posted it.
The connections in SigmaStudio's project schematic view only show signals inside the DSP core itself. They do not have any effect on routing. The way that you assign channels to the right position in the TDM stream is by choosing the correct digital audio channel numbers in the Input and Output cells.
The ADAU1761 has non-standard channel mapping, so you have to be careful.
The Input routing is described here: https://wiki.analog.com/resources/tools-software/sigmastudio/toolbox/io/input
(You can find the channel mapping table and diagram in the section labeled ADAU1761 Serial Input Port Routing.)
The Output routing is described here: https://wiki.analog.com/resources/tools-software/sigmastudio/toolbox/io/output
(You can find the channel mapping table and diagram in the section labeled ADAU1761).
Brett,
No worries on this one. I have it all working, I was just looking for documenting or confirmation so I could evaluate it as connected on my custom board.
thanks
chuck
