Hi Guys,

I am new to the ADAU1701 platform and trying to build a DSP module, my experience is all passive filter design (17 years of High-End audio) so this micro electronics is all new.

Looking at the eval schematic it looks like I should be able to build a circuit that will self boot from the eeprom and program with the external iUSB by taking the sections and adding them together.

I spent the best part of the day using Eagle PCB to create the attached schematic image of the circuit, Any help from more experienced people would be a great help as i am a little out of my depth here.

I have left the inputs and outputs clear as i will need to build an op amp circuit to convert to a differential inout/output on each end, i have also left off the supply regulation. Its all baby steps and im curious to see if my understanding of the eval schematic is correct with what i have produced.

many thanks in advance

Graeme

Hi Coleman,

Many thanks for the quick response, I took the cap values from the eval schematic, but consolidating would be a lot easier especially when it comes to manufacture.

I dont have the op amp circuits designed yet, im not sure how to go about that bit as yet. I know i want to be able to switch between single ended input and balanced on each end with a jumper to get the most out of the module. Any recommendation on op amp?

copied the loop filter from the eval schematic attached, but i might have gotten a pin wrong?

I wish my electronics was as good as my filter design lol but im prepared to stick with it to the end

Hi Graeme,

I have looked over your schematic and right away noticed that you have a few types of power supply decoupling bypass values: you have 0.10uF, 0.10nF, and 0.10pF. I would consolidate these values to 0.10uF.

It is not clear from your schematic, but the Loop Filter should be referenced directly to AVDD_2 at pin 36.

Please post your input and output op amp circuits, if you are comfortable doing so. If not, we can carry on a private discussion.

Best regards,

Coleman
