Controllable amplitude modulation from sources & external

I would like to use the external control volume module in conjunction with the internal sources to create amplitude modulation. However I would like to control the gain somehow so if using a sine source for example as the control, when sinex=0 the gain would be unity, when the values go up it would increase the gain by a factor I can control and when going below 0 it will attenuate by the same factor.

The attached circuit provides variable rate and depth amplitude modulation. It runs on a -1701 mini board. Note that when the volume control drive is slowly changing (as it is here), a plain multiplier works as well as an ext slew volume control while using fewer instructions.
