Processor horsepower / instructions x cycle / load percentage
Hi everybody,
I'm using Sygmastudio 3.8, I remember that some time ago there was the possibility to see the details about the generated program in order to understand how much of the horsepower of the processor was used by the program (1701 in my case), I remember something about number of instructions per sample ....
Has this function disappeared? How can I evaluate if my algorithm, working OK at 44100, won't be to heavy at higher sample rates?
Thank you.

Hi,
For some SigmaDSP chips you can find your resource usage in SigmaStudio's output window. The -1701 isn't one of them. If you're wondering why that matters, please see

To find your resource usage for the -1701 and other older-generation chips, open the compiler-generated folder named "IC1_......". You'll find this folder in with your project file. Next, open the folder called "net_list_out.........", and the text file, "compiler_output.txt". This file contains the info you need:
As you know, if you're using less than about 500 instructions, you're safe up to 88.2 / 96 KHz.
Best regards.

Thank you so much for the answer, I found the file and the info contained is just what I need.
I suppose that the situation is as follows when I change the frequency (from base freq to base freq x 2 or x 4):
- instructions : 1024 / 2 or /4
- Data RAM: same usage
- Parameter RAM : same usage
The only drawback is if I use the delay lines .... numberof samples of delay will remain the same, but available time delay will be / 2 or /4. Correct?
Yep, corrrect. There is a trick that allows you to double the delay time at half the system sample rate, but of course such won't help you if you need your delay(s) to handle full-fidelity signals.
