Hello,

Is there a way to read back the ADC value continuously with ADAU1701 dev kit and store the data somehow so that it is easier to investigate later? Clicking "ReadBack" button and writing down the values does not really help in this case.

What it the max read back frequency for ADAU1701 anyway? Is it just based on I2C speed?

Thanks,

Ari

Hi Ari,

Where do you want to store the data? As a file on the computer? Or perhaps on another IC?

Hi Brett,

I realize that if I had a micro controller, I could read the data capture register over I2C and then maybe send the data to PC over UART. But right now I have only the ADAU1701 dev kit and my question is if I can accomplish the same without the micro controller: somehow get the data to computer?

At what frequency I can expect to read/get the data?

Thanks,

Ari

I would suggest using the DSP Readback cell. That sets up the data capture register, which you can then poll using your microcontroller. There's a brief explanation of that here: https://ez.analog.com/message/7669

There currently isn't a way to do this with the eval board as-is, because there is no data logging set up in SigmaStudio. We decided not to include that functionality mainly because the data bandwidth over the USB-I2C connection is too limited.
