I am trying to control a 1701 via I2C via an ATMega88.

I am using TWIMaster library as mentioned here:

While the basic protocol is fairly straightforward, it's a bit difficult to muddle through the Sigma documentation for I2C programming and parameter changes (at least for the AVR). Are there any code examples for using AVR/I2C to communicate with ADAU1701?

joe42,

I'm not aware of any code examples, but I will forward your question to our software team to see if they have any experience with this.

I'm not sure if you will find this helpful, but here's a tutorial for creating microcontroller code for an ARM Cortex.

Thanks, it's somewhat helpful, but it would be great if there were just some simple read/write code samples for AVR, PIC, etc. Similarly, clear conversion routines for numeric formats of Sigma to standard C formats would also be valuable.

This would be a reasonable project for a summer intern college kid, and a great resource for the rest of us.

It's funny you mention that! This was actually an intended project for an intern we had last summer, but his evaluation board design ended up taking so much time that he never got to this. Maybe next summer...
