Hi There!

I'm currently developing my own computer program that sends data to the DSP. So I have several things like Xovers, EQs etc. My program has all the mathematical formulas to generate the parameters (such as coefficients), however, I can't find information about how to generate the parameters for the Limiter algorithm. In particular the RMS TC (db/s) and Decay (db/s) parameters. Could you from ADI please provide me the math stuff so I can make my program dynamically calculate it instead of using an ugly table?

Thanks!

Hey... This is quite urgent, it's the only thing I need to finish the program and finally present it. Please, BrettG or someone else from ADI, your input is very important.

Thanks!

It looks like the RMS TC value is a linear function, perhaps you could derive it from plotting a few points.

Hi Nando.One

I was traveling on business for the last 3 weeks, so I apologize for my late response.

Currently the RMS TC calculation is not in the documentation, so I'm not sure if I can provide anything right away. As Natan mentioned, it's a linear function, so it's simple to plot a few points and then use Excel or some other spreadsheet software to derive the transfer function.

Hi,

While looking for something else I ran into this thread, which might help with your limiter calculation:

That's some really great information. I will go through that post entirely and if I have any further questions I'll come back asking here! Thank you!

I have updated the wiki article to reflect the formulas we derived in that thread Bob posted above.
