Hi All

Using separately calculated corrective FIR values by external speaker measurement system I have found the Sigma studio FIR object and included it in the circuit. Opened the load file and can see a text file is requested. Been looking around for a description for the file but cant find it.

Do you have a description of the file format?

Is it correct that the limit is 800 lines?

Is this per FIR object or limited by memory (i.e can I cascade)?

Can it be increased?

Is there any figure of the DSP flop capability, memory size is specified but how do I work out the processing speed capability remaining

all the best/Mike

I utilized MATLAB to calculate my FIR filter coefficients. Once I got them into a column vector, I copied and pasted over into that window that you were talking about... I've also taken those coeff in a column and put them into a notepad doc then saved them as a .txt for future use. I can tell you I've run into memory problems with these FIR filters from a large number of coeff (I use an ADAU1442).

Don't know if that helps you at all

Hello,

The FIR filter cell shouldn't limit you on the number of taps. I just tried a few things in SigmaStudio and I was able to make tables much larger than what should even fit into memory.

One important note: the text file format should be <newline> delimited, but when I export a file from SigmaStudio, I'm not seeing the carriage returns when opening the file with notepad. I think this is a problem that needs to be addressed. Luckily, echoskope's method appears to work just fine.
