I am unable to turn the new gui for the compressors on. This gui is shown for the standard compressors in the help file.

I have the latest (3.6.2) version and adau1701 eval board and am on xpSp3.

Some users reported issues with the new gui in the last version. So they could see it. What am I missing?

kindly help resolve this.

I found that the new compressor GUI is in the library for AD1761/AD1781/AD144X but not in the AD1701/AD1702. Also, the AD1761/AD1781/AD144X have AVC block but not the Sub-harmonic Synth blocks.

Is there any specific reason why it (compressor GUI, AVC and Sub-harmonic Synth) is not uniform across?

Thanks,

KKSL

Hi KKSL,

Each DSP core has a completely different architecture and therefore every algorithm must be re-coded every time it is ported to a new architecture. Some DSP cores are better or worse at different kinds of processing, so sometimes we have to customize the algorithm to fit the core. Also, some algorithms require special hardware accelerators that are available on some DSP cores, but not others, so we can only port those to some, not all, SigmaDSP products.

Since the inner workings of each algorithm are different depending on the DSP core, sometimes we customize the GUI as well, depending on the DSP running it.
