KKSL Question

On a compandor IC like the SA571, I can use the two channels to form a automatic balance control. This could be done by connecting variable gain input of one channel to Lt and its rectifier input to Rt and, variable gain input of other channel to Rt and its rectifier input to Lt.

How can I implement this exact same function in SigmaDSP (ADAU1701)?

Kindly do let me know if you need more info on this function.

Any help/ hints would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Let me clarify a little since it is not fair to relate it to SA571:

Let SigmaDSP have a two channel input: Lt & Rt.

Both Lt & Rt are connected to a volume control, set, let's say, at mid position.

With an automatic balance control in place, if I increase or decrease the volume of one channel, the other also tracks the first. If one channel is muted, the other also mutes.

So in effect, the two channels are ALWAYS in balance (tracking each other).

I tried using compressors with external detect by criss-crossing the signals to the detect pins, and several other options I could come up with, with no success.

It is possible that I may be missing something obvious. If required, I can post the schematics of all that I tried and we could debug it one by one.

Thanks in advance!!

Hello,

Let me simplify it further:

If I have two audio channels and assume a volume control in one channel, how can I have the other channel track the changes?

Thanks in advance

Hi KKSL,

Sorry I missed this one.

Is this what you're looking to do? (See attached project)
