Hi all,

is it possible to decode serial bitstream send from an infrared reciever chip into an GPIO pin with the ADAU1701 ?

Hi Bernd,

Do you have any details about the serial data format? I doubt that the ADAU1701 could do this kind of decoding, but it's worth a look. I can at least check with the software team once I have more detailed information.

Thanks!

Brett

Hi Brett,

the code is, for example, normal RC5 remote control serial code for TV

or AV control (38kHz).

kind regards

Bernd

Hi Bernd,

I think we investigated this at some point in the past. There might be prototype code floating around somewhere, but the software team is traveling abroad at the moment for customer meetings. I will put this issue on hold for now, and respond when the software team returns in about a week.

Hi Bernd,

It turns out that one of our engineers was investigating this several years ago, but we never coded up a solution. The infrared receiver was included on an older version of the GPIO board, but it was never functional, which is why we removed it from the newer designs.
