Serial routing when using two Sigma ADAU1445 chips
My question isabout routing serial ports etc. I am using Sigma Studio with 2 x ADAU1445 chips on a PCB. I have the schematic all done but when I go to look at the Register Control for the two chips, only the information for the Routing Matrix is populated for IC1. When I click on the IC2 tab, none of the Routing Matrix is populated. I know the informaton must be in there somewhere because the hardware (PCB Design) works, but there is no way to change which outputs go where.
Also, is there the entire Sigma Manual in PDF form for download?
Thanks so much.

Hi Ben,
It looks like you already branched the discussion on your own!
I just tried to duplicate the issue with a simple project using two ADAU144x ICs. I was able to control the routing for both of the ICs by clicking on their respective IC tabs. So, I can't see the same problem.
Could you please let me know some more details?
Operating system?
SigmaStudio version?
Do you have a screenshot to illustrate the problem?
We have taken this discussion offline.
Hi Brett,
I think what is happening is that when you have two ICs in the design and you route things back and forth between the ICs, you can see the routing when you go to the Hardware Configuration tab and then to IC1 and then to IC2. The thing that happens though, I am guessing is that when you save and close the project and then reopen it, the data for IC2 is in there somewhere but does not repopulate on the screen. Everything shows up as the defaults. Check out the Serial I/O and Routing Matrix tabs.
That said, the routing is there in the 'background' but again, does not show up when the project is reopened. Try it and see if it is that way for you.
BTW, I am using Windows7, 64bit, and SigmaStudio 3.5 Build 7 Rev 911. I have used older versions of SigmaStudio and I get the same results.
Ben, let's try a workaround.
Can you open the project and try to re-populate the register settings manually?
At that point, we can try out a workaround to the issue of the settings for the second IC disappearing after saving. After setting all of the registers as desired, if you right-click the IC in the hardware setup tab, there is an option to “Save Register Settings”, which will save all of those settings to a binary file. You can then re-load those settings from the file each time you re-open the project. I admit, it’s not the nicest workaround, but at least it works!
In the meantime, the software team is trying to fix the issue so the IC 2 settings are saved in the first place.
