Hello,

I would like to use the Sigma DSP AD1941 to equalize music. But I have to know which clock frequency has got the I²S port (serial data I/O port) because I want to transmit the music via FM-Transmitter to a car-radio. The FM-Transmitter input must have a minimum clock frequency of 2 MHz.

I have looked through the datasheet but I cannot find the clock frequency of the I²S output. So I hope you can help me.

Thank you.

Kind regards

Sebastian

Sebastian,

The clock frequency is not fixed. It is dependent on:

The audio sampling rate

The number of bit clock cycles per channel (typically 32)

The number of channels per frame (typically 2, but could be 4, 8, or 16)

For a typical 48 kHz, 32 cycles per channel, stereo signal, the bit clock frequency would be:

48000 Hz × 32 cycles × 2 channels =
3.072 MHz

Are you sure the FM transmitter has an I2S-compatible serial port?

Hello BrettG,

Yes the FM-Transmitter has an I2S compatible serial port.

Thank you for your answer it is very helpful.

Kind regards
