This is my current implementation of the VAD blocks:

Is the state machine my best bet for muting/unmuting audio in reaction the VAD Flag? Does anyone have any idea on how to add hangtime to the end of voice detection period. Right now the audio will cut in and out as you speak, I want to keep the audio active for a minimum of 2 seconds after voice is detected. I can't see any clear cut way to do this with external blocks or with the VAD blocks themselves.

I think I have a working hangtime for the VAD Flag Block:

Hi Natan,

Sorry for my delayed response. I just returned from China, and last week I had very little opportunity to check up on the forum. Would you mind attaching this project so I can give it a try on my evaluation board?

Thanks!

Brett

Hi Brett,

Not a problem, I have attached a sample project I used on the ADAU1761 evaluation board. I am currently using it and it seems to work well. Hangtime can be extended or shortened via changing the 25000 value in the VadHangtimeLogic Block. If you happen to get any more specific information about the variable usage in the Vad with Accelerator Block I would like to learn more.

Hi Natan,

I hope you’re doing well. Would you please share your VAD implementation? I’d love to try it out on my evaluation board; this will help me.

Hello Tanim,

This post is really old. 2011. We did make some small changes to the VAD block since then. Which processor are you using? What do you need to do?

Experiment with the current VAD block to see what it does and then adapt your program to do what you want. Have you watched some of my videos? The one on Readbacks would be good to watch and the one on troubleshooting.

Hello Dave

Thank you for your fast response. I wanted to let you know that the VAD algorithm is working successfully on my ADAU1467 evaluation board. I do have a couple of follow-up questions, if I may. First, is it possible to create a custom block that performs a user-defined function, or to implement some level of customization beyond the prebuilt blocks? Second, is there any way to access the source code behind the existing built in blocks?
