Hi Brett,

Do you know how or could singaDSP or Sharc DSP do the the microphone whistles? Or is there any ready solution for this application?

One of the way is frequency shift, but as I know sigmaDSP like ADAU1701 does not open this to user. Please advice if there is any such application on SigmaDSP.

Thanks and best regards,

Hans Xie

Hello Hansxie,

I think that an adaptive filter might be able to cancel the hiss (I'm assuming microphone whistle is somehow a hiss).

This algorithm would be close to ANR(active noise reduction) headphones. where they cancel the disturbance and keep the music.

Adaptive filter : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adaptive_filter

ANR : http://www.walab.ctw.utwente.nl/Lectures/113172/avicrdr.pdf

The NLMS algorithm is one way to implement an adaptive filter and it is present in my version of SigmaDSP. Although I have't been able to use it yet because the inputs and outputs are not mapped and I can't see any infomation about it in the help system. I'm currently waiting for some help about that.

Anyway, hope that helps!

Edit : found reference for ANR
