if I develop a guitar effectpedal with the 1701, and offer the end user the opportunity to download new DSP Hex-code to their pedal, how would the USB interface look like ? Is it possible to develop a pedal with USBi circuit on board to have USB connection to their PC ? And is there any standard app available to download the hex code to their pedal without using SigmaStudio , because the guitarist is not able to use SigmaStudio ?
Thanks for your thoughts in advance. Cheers, Stephan

The Cypress USBi firmware code is specific to SigmaStudio and requires drivers that were written specifically to interface to our USB communication code. So, that wouldn't be useful to you in developing a non-SigmaStudio based USB connection and GUI.

We created that system based on example code from Cypress. Many USB Microcontrollers like the Cypress EZ-USB series have existing USB code and example files that will help you get started.

Some SigmaDSP users have created their own interface GUI and USB control scheme. Here's an example: https://ez.analog.com/thread/7693?tstart=0

For a more professional solution, see also http://www.tixeng.com/projects/DSP

It has balanced mono input and 4 balanced outputs, fw upgrade by usb interface. And great performances.
