Standard RMS block didn't show in capture
I am using sigma studio 3.3. My project is to using small MCU to control the sigma DSP.
When I use the Standard RMS (Two channel compressor). I can not see the capture of the command and data send out. Any reason for that?
Another question is, for those ratio/threshold paramters, will the DSP get it directly? Or just the PC(Sigma Studio Software) convert to a 34 point table(like the 'Show Graph') and send to DSP ?
Thanks a lot.
Hi Philip,
There are no direct parameter mappings between the threshold and ratio parameters to the RAM. Basically, those two parameters are used to calculate the gain table that is stored in RAM. In this thread, I show an example of how to calculate the gain table: https://ez.analog.com/message/5004#5004
Thanks for pointing out the bug involving the Standard RMS compressor and the Capture window. That's pretty serious! I'll report it ASAP.
In the meantime, you can use the Params window to see the values stored in RAM. Check this video to see how it works: http://videos.analog.com/?fr_story=d048b8cab340b3a42cb187e811139e9c1d523ad1&rf=bm
Here's my bug report to the software team:
If you add any of the "Standard Compressor" cells to a project and compile, then change any of the parameters in the control GUI, the Capture Window does not update, and no data is written to the SigmaDSP. The data will only update if you do another Link-Compile-Download.
Philip,
If you have the hardware connected to the PC, this problem goes away. It is only an issue when the board is not connected to the computer. That's because the algorithm is waiting for an acknowledge from the device before it writes the updated parameters. The software engineer is looking into this.
The software engineer has solved the problem. It will be fixed in the next SigmaStudio release.
Issue was fixed in software.
