Some problem about the block of Limiter

Now we are designeding a system ,The block Limiter is used as a Compressor,There is a parameter Decay(db/s),We don't known the functon of the parameter,so i want to get help from here,thanks very much!

The decay controls how quickly the gain increases after the limiter becomes active. It is similar to the "Release" control you see on most compressors.
