Hi

I need to connect 2 SPDIF inputs to the ADAU1701 chip and have the SigmaDSP produce a mix of the 2 inputs. I have 2 device ICs that convert the optical SPDIF into a single channel I2S (DATAOUT, BITCLOCK and LRSEL)

Can 2 independent I2S streams be input into the ADAU1701 devices?

Also i have the ADAU1401A Eval board and there is CPLD that functions as a "serial data output buffer" is this needed?

Thanks

Steve

Hi Steve,

Sorry for the late reply. I was away on business last week and it took me a while to get caught up.

The EVAL-ADAU1401EBZ board contains an S/PDIF receiver, which accepts two channels (left and right). If you look at the user guide for the eval board (UG-072), you'll see a guide to setting up the switches and jumpers in the correct configuration for S/PDIF I/O on page 20.

In SigmaStudio, you'll need to set up the GPIO registers as follows:

You'll need to use inputs 2 and 3 for the inputs and DIG0 and DIG1 for the outputs.
