Running 1442 EVAL Board in Selfboot, Did I Miss Something?
Ok, I bought the 1442 EVAL board with the intention of building up a program and eventually running it on that board WITHOUT being tethered to the computer. Is this not possible? Did I miss something?
I thought that was the whole point of "selfboot" is that it would just boot up on power up and begin running the program that was written to the eprom. In other words running "standalone".
Can someone please explain if this is possible and how to do it. I have searched through the forum, but couldn't find a clear answer or exact steps of how to do it.
I have a program buildt in SS and I link/compile/download it and it runs, but I need to be able to unplug the USBi interface and have that program run on power up from that point on.
Thanks to anyone that can help!
Jason
Ok, here's an update.
I seem to have gotten it to work. I set the selfboot dip switch pin to the left and "Write last copilation to E2Prom" and it runs on power up without having to link/compile/download everytime.
The problem is I am generating a sine wave within the DSP and outputting it to a pair of computer speakers. Everything works fine while the USBi is plugged in and then when I unplug it the program continues to run and I continue to hear the sine wave, but there is a significant hum in the speakers along with the sine tone.
If I plug the USBi back in, even enough for the pins to touch, the noise is gone. Why is unplugging the USBi inducing or allowing the noise to show up and how do I get rid of it?
Thanks,
Jason
Ok, sorry I guess this was a dumb question. It appears to be working now. I don't know what I'm changing. I just follow the same procedure.
Im still new to all this, so I am still learing the features as I need them.

Not sure what might have been going wrong, but let us know if the problem comes back.
Ok, I sure will. Thanks a lot Brett!
