USB interface for ADAU1701
I am new to DSP. I would like to integrate on the same board the ADAU1701 processor and a USB interface, in order to program
the processor with SigmaStudio simply connecting the board to a P.C. USB port.
I know the evaluation board EVAL-ADUSB2EBZ (USBi) is suitable for configuring the processor with SigmaSudio through USB port.
AN1006 describes in detail this evaluation board and also gives constructive data (circuit schematics, board layout, bill of materials)
but I didn't find the firmware for the microcontroller (CY7C68053).
Can anyone explain how can I implement an interface like the USBi on my board, in order to have both processor and USB
interface on the same board ?

Welcome to the forums.
Is there any reason why you wouldn't just put a 10-pin header on the board so you can connect the USBi directly to it and control it that way?
Since the board of the DSP is also equipped with a microcontroller, I was thinking to make firmware update easier. Some microcontrollers can be reprogrammed connecting the serial peripheral to a p.c., others require a programming device. I have understood the ADAU1701 belongs to the second type, isn't it ?
Anyway it isn't an important feature, the simplest way is to put the connector for the USBi.
I am a beginner in the world of DSP and I will probably post other questions, thank you in advance for your reply.
Actually the microcontroller on the USBi simply converts commands stored in USB packets to the I2C or SPI communication protocol that communicates with the ADAU1701. Unless you are planning to make your own software GUI that would allow an end user to modify the processing parameters on the target hardware, you probably don't need to worry about USB communications. Probably using the 10-pin USBi header will be sufficient for you.
Dear Brett,
thank for your reply, since I am just beginning to use DSP, the USBi is the right tool to start working. The next step will be to find a method for downloading some pre-defined configurations into the DSP using a microcontroller and modify some of the parameters.
At the moment I have not idea of the user interface, it could be a local display and pushbuttons or, at a later development stage, a software interface installed on a remote p.c. connected to the microcontroller with a bus.
