I am using ADAU1701 and I want ot do a external pot to control the gain though the ADC.

My set up is a ADC_In go directly to the orange external control point of the "Single slew ext vol" block.

In fact I can control the volumn with a 3.3V almost getting 0dB gain.

The problem is with 0V, I get only around -50 db gain, which is not enough to supress the audio pass though the gain block.

I am hoping to have more supression when the pot is at 0V

Am I missing some block in between the adc and the vol control?

How can I make it?

Thanks a lot

Hmmm, I wonder if the ADC input isn't quite getting all the way down to ground. Well, never mind. The solution is simple! I would suggest using a dynamics processor to scale the ADC input to the range you want.

Take the input of the aux ADC and connect it to a Peak Compressor in SigmaStudio's dynamics processors library. Then follow the suggestions here to make a downward expander and noise gate:
