New to posting here on the forum,

Searched around but could not find a solution that seems to work for our project and been scratching my head trying to figure this one out...

The Question is if it is possible to control a mux from a 4 position rotary switch on the GPIO without using the aux adc's (they are already commited)

I need to switch between compressors/effects depending on the rotary switch position. 170x series DSP.

Thanks!

Hi Mike,

How does your rotary switch output its state to the GPIO pins? I'm guessing there are several pins on the switch that change between either logic high or logic low based on the switch position. Can you please share the specifics?

Brett,

Yes, The output from the rotary switch (4 output pins) is logic level and debounced prior to being recieved by 4 GPIO pins. Only one of 4 input pins will be logic high at a time.

Essentially I just want to route a signal among 4 paths (and different DSP effects) depending on which GPIO input is held logic high.

The aux adc's are already commited to various other functions.

This is the first commercial project I have employed a Sigma in before, and I have to say I am beyond pleased with the ease of implementation (hardware/software) so far. This mux section has been the only hang up.

Thanks Again!

Given that set of constraints, the solution to the problem is simple. You technically only have to use 3 of the GPIOs, because you can assume that if 0, 1, and 2 are NOT true, then 3 must be true.
