We use the State Machine to design a system, using the extern microcontroler control the State Machine ,the value which si controled is dBu, So we want to transform State Machine's setting value into its corresponding voltage value, but now we don't kown equation,Can you help us ?

Thanks very much

Hi Leiming,

Signals inside the DSP are not represented in voltage. They are represented in a number system called 5.23, which has 1 integer bit and 23 fractional bits. We also sometimes use the unit dB FS, which is decibels referenced to a full-scale signal, or 1 in 5.23 format. You can see more information on the number formats here: https://ez.analog.com/message/13377#13377

So, you can't assign an analog voltage value of dBu to a digital signal represented in the core. They are two different domains.

What are you trying to accomplish with the state machine? Perhaps if I knew your intended use, I could help you create the right signal flow.

At first ,Thanks for your reply!

We want to use the StateMachine to design a NoiseGate and use extern microcontroler control it! but after much times experiment we find the block StateMachine is not suitable for our design.

Although this the information is useful for usand i still thanks for your reply!
