Hi,

It appears that the simulated responce curve of band stop filter in generial 2nd order filter is wrong, so is the phase curve. When you specify the cutting off frequency 1000hz and a certain bandwidth, say 0.5, you'll see the curve is actually cutting off at around 900hz. We've done some tests with the band stop filter on real signals, and confirmed that the filter implemention is correct but the simulation curve is not.

Regards,

Rong

Hi Rong,

Thanks very much for reporting this. I'm going to try to confirm it on the AP and then I'll pass it on to the software team's list of bug fixes / updates for the next beta.

Hi BrettG,

I downloaded the 3.6 build 2
I have the same problem:

the simulated responce curve of a notch filter is wrong. When you specify the cutting off frequency 50hz the notch frequency is show at 45Hz... I have to do some tests to check if the filter implementation is correct with a real signal.

Hi Inventis,

I have noticed that the simulation curve is still wrong, occasionally. It seems that if you follow the steps to update the system's sample rate ( https://ez.analog.com/docs/DOC-1431 ), even if the sample rate was correct to begin with, sometimes the problem corrects itself.

I will definitely remind the software team that this simulation window is still a bit unreliable.

The good news is that the filter responses actually measure correctly on the AP. It's just a problem with the display function, apparently.
