Crash: Download File to E2Prom ( 1701)
Downloaded a test program with SigmaStudio to my EvalBoard 1701.
- After download , "Write latest compilation to E2Prom".
- Uploaded with "E2Prom to File" in SigmaStudio ( WinE2PromLoader ) .Gave it a name "Test.hex.
- Then tried to download the file to EEprom with "Download File to E2Prom" . SigmaStudio crashes.
What's wrong ?
I have noticed some strange issues with the E2Prom Read/Write window lately. That particular window was developed a while back and is overdue for an update. I think it is corrupting the file before it saves to hex format. I am going to request to the software team that it is removed from SigmaStudio temporarily until it is updated and improved.
For the time being, please try the method described in this thread.
You can alternatively find the generated .hex file using this method.
Still corrupted in Version 3.4, right ?
Yes, sorry about that. This issue is still on the waiting list of software updates and it has been given lower priority over other issues. You can still use this sequence to generate your own selfboot EEPROM image:

The upload command seems to be appending other data to the image file and a successive download will cause a crash. It looks like the only button that is reliably useful in the EEPROM read/write window is the Download File To EEPROM button.
Is this issue fixed in 3.5 ?
No, unfortunately this issue still remains in version 3.5. I have reminded the software team of this problem.
Is this the same issue? When I connect to an EEPROM and "Read E2Prom to Display" it works correctly, but if I try to use "DownLoad File to E2prom" I get an error message:

Is this supposed to load .bin files or .hex files?
Oh, it looks like it wants a hex file, and the error is produced if you feed it a binary file. (Error message could be more helpful, though.)
