Severe bug in both SigmaStudio 3.2 and 3.3
Hi Guys,
I'm not sure of the proper channel to tell you about this, so I'll just stick it up here.
In both 3.2 and 3.3, on windows XP and windows 7, I've encountered SigmaStudio crashing and taking the open file down with it. By 'down with it', I mean that after the crash the previously opened file is reported to be 0 kb and refuses to open. This has lost me a number of files now, some I have been able to save with backups.
Is analog aware of this issue?
I'm not sure what other information there is, does SigmaStudio keep a crash log?
Thanks,
Nick
That sounds like a serious issue. However, nobody in our team has experienced that problem and we haven't received any similar reports from customers, at least to my knowledge. Could you please share a pre-crash project file so we can try to duplicate the issue you're seeing?
Also, are there any actions you're performing in SigmaStudio that seem to be correlated with the crash, or does it happen at seemingly random moments?
Lastly, are you seeing any kind of error message? I don't believe SigmaStudio generates and error log file, but I think usually the "SigmaStudio has stopped working" crash notification window will give you an option for viewing a detailed crash report. It would be helpful if you could copy and save that report to a text file and send to us.
Hi Brett,
Sorry about the delay. I've been trying a few different things.
I think my problem is down to saving .dspproj files over a network. We have a server machine which also doubles as our FEM machine, and so if any calculations are being run at the same time then the network slows down horrifically. This causes SigmaStudio to crash when attempting to save. It's also the same when wifi drops out (for instance whilst moving my laptop between locations in the offices). It doesn't explain why it takes the file with it though.
I'll just have to be more careful in future!
