It seems like sigmastudio would be much more powerful if it allowed general multi-input-multi-ouput filters as specified by numerator and denominator coefficients in a transfer function matrix or (preferrably) a state space model. Is there any way to implement this now other than to approximate behavior with FIR filters and graphically form transfer function matrix?

Are you looking to enter filter coefficients directly, rather than use the built-in equations and graphical tools to generate your biquad filter coefficients? The "General" filter blocks have an option for IIR coefficient entry, which allows you to enter the values directly into a text box or load the coefficients from a file. You can use this block to load filter coefficients that you've generated in other programs, such as Matlab.

I found that, thanks.

That is very helpful. Is there a way to go to a higher order?

Are there any plans to implement a state space model implementation?

Thanks,

A state space filter implementation is not commonly seen in audio applications, so we haven't seen a need to implement that in SigmaStudio. You can implement a higher order filter by cascading multiple 2nd order filters in series. There are not stand-alone SigmaStudio blocks that implement IIR filters higher than 2nd order.
