Hello,

we have made a nice design with the 1701.

Now we have been thinking about an wakeup via RCA, a kind of NF detection. Is the ADAU 1701 capable to detect NF input an generate an wakeup IO.?

We need an seperate 3,3V suply than to power off the main Amplifier via ADAU1701, I asume.

Do you have any hint for me.?

Thank you in advance

regards

Stefan

Sorry, I'm not clear what you mean by "NF". Could you explain that? Are you looking to power-up the part based on an audio input signal? If so, this isn't really possible with the ADAU1701. The SigmaDSP core is always running and doesn't really have a "sleep" mode that it can be put into. In order for the SigmaDSP to detect an input signal, it must be running in the first place.

Perhaps he means a way to detect input signal and generate a digital I/O that could be used to turn a amplifier (or whatever else) on when signal is above a certain threshold, then powering it off some time after no signal is detected at the input.

This would be a nice feature I was also thinking about: perhaps it can be done by routing the input(s) to an envelope block followed by a RMS calculator, and then to a comparator that excites a timer, etc.

A block that already does all this would be nice and very widely used.

Ssanchez, I've created a basic example of an Input Monitor here:

Stefan, is this similar to what you want to do?
