The SigmaDSP's SPI and I2C ports are for control only - reading and writing to the RAMs and registers. The ADAU1401 can take an audio input from the two audio ADCs and up to eight channels on the serial ports (SDATA_INx). The audio outputs are the four DACs and up to eight serial port channels (SDATA_OUTx).

Do you need more I/O channels than the ADAU1401 can offer? Both the AD1940 and ADAU144x have more serial I/Os, but neither of these have on-board audio converters.
