The user sought advice on implementing a piecewise function for amplitude control as a hard/soft clipper on the ADAU170x SigmaDSP. The final answer indicated that the question was assumed to be answered offline or through a multi-part response. An accompanying answer suggested using the Standard Cubic block under Non-Linear Processors, which is available on the ADAU1701, for the desired functionality.

Hi there,

Does anyone have a good advice on how to implement a piecewise function, which can be used as amplitude control for the ADAU170x SigmaDSP? The idea is to use it as hard/soft clipper (most desired: soft); I am aware that SigmaStudio has the block already for other Sigmas, but for the ADAU it has to be implemented from available blocks and I am having a hard time figuring out how to do it.

All your help is much appreciated.

Regards,

JaaC

Hi Jaime:

I believe this block is also available on the 1701. it's called the Standard Cubic under Non Linear Processos. There is an advanced one that is not included on the 1701.

Let me know if this is what you are looking for.

Best regards

Miguel
