Dear Sirs

I need to know how to fill values on RMS Table (5.23 format) to fire the slew mux (0,1 index , on 28.0 format).

See draw.

Other question: At running time is it possible to change the RMS table ?

The idea is to provide a vox to voice channel.

Regards

Jean

Your design is correct that the values in the RMS table are stored as 5.23 format numbers, and the slew mux expects a control input in 28.0 format. The values in the table should just be zeros and ones so that below a certain point in the table, the output will be zero, and above that point, the output will be 1. In order to convert the output from 5.23 into 28.0, you just need to multiply the control signal by 1 in 28.0 format. This will align the 0 and 1 output to the LSB of the 28.0 number to control the mux. This is shown in the screen capture below.

The values in the rms table are stored in the parameter RAM, so they are adjustable at run-time. You should be careful that a change in the table doesn't cause a sudden unexpected change in its output, which would happen if you are changing the table value that's associated with the rms level of the input signal at that time. When loading new values into the table, you should be sure to always use safeload to avoid executing an instruction with a corrupted parameter (half old value, half new value).
