Hallo,

I found a circuit, FT2232H, what is a programable USB to multi protocol serial converter. It is support I2C, ISP, JTAG protocols. If I would like to make connection between the ADAU1701 and Sigma Studio, how can I implement the driver of this circuit into the Sigma Studio? Maybe one of the USBi or any other device in the list is compatible with this device?

Thank You!

Gabor

Hello Gabor,

SigmaStudio is set up only to interface with the USBi for USB-to-SPI/I2C communications. The driver does not support other 3rd party hardware for this communication.

Dear JeradL,

Thank You for Your answer!

But what can I do, if I would like to integrate the DSP, the MCU and the USB interface all together on a PCBoard? If I buy from Analog an USBi circuit, it would be a seperated circuit. I can not build more seperated circuits into the equipment. So this is my problem.

I see, on the eval board is an FT245BM device. Can I easy use this chip + a PIC to make i2c communication between devices or I need a special microcode for the control of this FT245BM?

Sorry for this forced question, but I have to know what kind of possibilites have I.

Thank You,

Gabor

We do not support SigmaStudio interfacing to your own hardware through an on-board USB connection. The USBi interface is intended for programming and tuning your design with SigmaStudio. If your end product requires a USB programming interface, then you will need to develop your own interface and software; SigmaStudio is not intended for end customer use.

The FTDI USB interface was an old design that we are no longer using. All of our USB communication is now supported with the USBi board.

Okay, now I really understood it. I would like to use the Sigma Studio just for the tuning and programming my product, but not want to give it for the end customer. Only if need a repair or change the program of the end product, than I need a connection between the PC and the product, but this connection must not be an USB connection. So it is not so important.

Ok, thank You!
