Is there a cross ref chart listing the available parameter, program and data ram for all sigmaDSP processors ?

for example:

I believe the 1701 has 3k of parameter ram, 4k of program ram, and 2k of data ram.

Is there a chart that compares this info for all SigmaDSP processors ?

or do I need to review the data sheet for each processor

I could be way off but do think this would be great information to include on the selection tables here:

thanks

ps

im thinking the number of control registers usable for saved parameters would be usefull also.

IE: i think the 1701 has 8 registers.

Thank you for the feedback. A table like you are requesting is not currently available on our website, but we hope to have something like this available as we re-work the content on our SigmaDSP pages.

The ADAU1701 has 1k words of program RAM, 1k words parameter RAM, and 2k words data RAM.

The control registers are not for setting parameters. Rather, these are for setting up the IC in its different modes and configuring its different functions. The signal processing parameters are saved in the parameter RAM.

Hello. thanks for the reply.

thanks for getting me on track here. I see where i got off track.

I was refering to page 32 of the datasheet for the 1701. It talks about saving system parameters on EEPROM during a power down, to be restored upon the next EEPROM boot. my thinking is that 8 parameters arent enough if you have crossovers and eq's, hence the need to be able to compare the number of registers across the product line. I imagine booting from a processor would allow many more parameters to be saved/restored. or am I lost again

-- snippet from page 32 of ADAU1701 ---

CONTROL REGISTER DETAILS
2048 TO 2055 (0X0800 TO 0X0807)—INTERFACE REGISTERS
The interface registers are used in self-boot mode to save
parameters that need to be written to the external EEPROM.
The ADAU1701 then recalls these parameters from the
EEPROM after the next reset or power-up. Therefore, system
parameters such as volume and EQ settings can be saved during
power-down and recalled the next time the system is turned on.

thanks in advance

Yes, the interface registers are used to save parameter values to an EEPROM when the ADAU1701 is powered down. The interface registers are available on the ADAU1701, ADAU1702, and ADAU1401. Other SigmaDSPs do not have this hardware feature. If you have a lot of parameter values that will be changed at run-time, and you want to save those new values, then it will be best to use a microcontroller to manage this, rather than use the SigmaDSP's selfboot.
