Hi guys,

I have configured the schematic using ADAU1450 in which I am facing a great difficulty in making the external DC volume work. I am using Log lookup table and not clear on what values I should actually need to feed. The ADC input has a 10k gain pot which varies the voltage from 0 to 3.3VDC. The volume is not muting fully, lot of signal is still present at full anticlockwise position.

Hello kanwar,

I am also trying to find how to load in files in this new EngineerZone interface. I have an example file of how to do this.

I think you are not formatting the data properly. The 10 bits of data from the AUXADC are right justified and the external volume control wants to see a 1.0 in 1.24 format to fully turn on the volume. So you need to shift left 14 bits. I will contact you and send you the file.

Thanks alot Dave, very generous of you.

Btw how to know that in what format the external volume control module or any other module accepts the data? Where to get this information regarding other type of modules as well such as clip Limiter with external input, does it also works in similar fashion by accepting left justified data in 1.24 format?

Hi,

In most cases you'll find the algorithm info you need in the SigmaStudio wiki:

SigmaStudio Toolbox Wiki

If what you need isn't there, try searching Engineer Zone -- perhaps another member has figured out how a particular algorithm works and has documented the results of their testing.

Best regards,

Bob
