ADSP BF706 analog mic issue
Hello,
I am working on ADSP BF706 and i am trying to do audio capture and send the same as the output. I have tried the example code found in the BSP (Talkthrough and audio filter callback programs) and i could successfully run the programs with line in inputs. Now i want to do it with an analog mic input. I went through the ADAU1761 datasheet and as mentioned in there I have made the settings for Capless Headphones output for a single ended microphone, also i have enabled the micbias for the microphone. I have also adjusted headphone outputs at maximum gain. But when I run the code the only thing i could hear is noise. Can someone help me with the indication of where am i going wrong? Is there any other setting to to made that is left?
Kindly help me with any information known on this.
Regards
Sudeep

Also I would like to know about differential and single ended mic inputs. I am using a microphone that has a line in jack which i have plugged into Line in of ADSP BF706 EZ mini kit. Will it be a noisy input if single ended inputs are used? Can i use differential inputs for the same?
Hi Sudeep,
Could you please find the the below solution which available for avoiding the kind of noise issue found on ADSP-BF706 Ez-kit mini.
The ADAU1761 codec driver when using SPI mode calls adi_sport_ConfigClock() with the bFallingEdge parameter being incorrectly true. CCES 2.4.0 corrected a bug whereby the bFallingEdge parameter was not being handled correctly, and this triggered the problems with the ADAU1761 driver examples you have encountered.
We have a patch for you to apply to adi_adau1761.c. This source is part of the BF706 BSP and will be included with the example projects in system > BF706_EZ-Kit_MINI > drivers > codec > adau1761. For the two calls of adi_sport_ConfigClock() replace the forth parameter (true,) in each with:
#if __CCESVERSION__ >= 0x02040000
false, /* CCES-11151 fixed */
#else
true, /* passing true compensates for CCES-11151 */
#endif
