Thread Summary

The user inquired about the behavior of the SS signal and the necessity of sending 'G' part data during safe load memory operations, and the read operation sequence. The final answer confirmed that the SS signal going high is part of the sequence due to two different addresses being sent, and 'G' part data is necessary to specify the memory page. The read operation sequence with additional commands is not recommended due to undefined behavior, and the user sought clarification on the implications of undefined behavior.

Hi,

The actual behavior of the device was observed when writing data to the safe load memory as follows.

There are 2 questions.

1. During transmission, The SS signal once goes high, is it necessary on the sequence ?

2. Is it necessary "G" part data to be send at the end of the sequence ?

There are additional questions regarding the read operation.

3. How is the data received when reading in the following order?

Is the data cleared?

Or is there any data written to it?

Thanks and Regards,

Answers to your questions above:

SigmaStudio sends two packages because the first has the Safelaod address and the second has a memory field address. Two different address.

Yes. That is how the framework knows which page of the memory to look at (upper or lower).

This is not a recommended communication sequence. When using safe load, do not introduce any additional commands since the behavior is undefined.

Hi Ken,

Thanks,

I understood about 1 and 2.

Please let me know about 3.

"the behavior is undefined" Please let me more details about what this means.

What you mean is that it isn't recommend this method, but it can be realized.

Thanks and Regards,
