Hello team,

My customer is facing some issues using SigmaStudio 4.4:

The project they developed uses a microcontroller that communicates with ADAU via the I2C bus. The data that is sent to ADAU for initialization and pre-definition of its registers is all obtained through the headers that are generated by sigmastudio for the project in question.

There are three files that they have incorporated into the code they developed which are the ProjectName_IC_1_SIGMA.h, ProjectName_IC_1_SIGMA_REG.h and ProjectName_IC_1_SIGMA_PARAM.h files. These files contain respectively the buffers that will be written to the ADAU registers, macros for defining vector sizes and some values for the first file, and sigmastudio block addresses.

The problem they are having is generating these files from sigmastudio version 4.4 for a project created with ADAU1787. Variable names are being hyphenated in the middle (eg "char variable-name;"), which for the gcc compiler is not allowed.

Another problem they are having is that the sigmastudio generator is creating macros that set the size of some vectors to zero in the ProjectName_IC_1_SIGMA_REG.h file, and in the ProjectName_IC_1_SIGMA.h file the vector is not empty. For example:

#define SIZE 0

char vector [SIZE] = {0xFF};

When generating files for projects with ADAU176x selected, this problem does not happen.

There is another problem yet, but they are still trying to solve it very clearly not knowing if the problem is in the project port for the new dsp or if the files are generated with problems. They often use the "void default_download_IC_1 ()" function contained in the ProjectName_IC_1_SIGMA.h file to initialize ADAU, but even after corrections are made to variable names and define values, and making the project compile and execute the dsp does not initialize its functionality.

Is this something known? would Sigmastudio 4.5 solve these issues?

Thank you!

Hello Juliano,

Have them download the new revision, 4.5, I think this was fixed in the new revision.

Let me know if it does fix all the problems.

Hi Dave, thank you very much for the reply!

I had my customer to install the new version of Sigmastudio and they returned that the issue about non null vectors macros was not solved and they listed many vectors that were still under the null declaration.

iex.: /* Register Default - IC 1-Sigma.READ_LAMBDA Register */
ADI_REG_TYPE R146_READ_LAMBDA_IC_1_Sigma_Default[REG_READ_LAMBDA_IC_1_Sigma_BYTE] = {
0x3F};

They also mentioned to be still having issues while booting up 1787 through external uC, but they will be going to make a full comparison between both data stream from SigmaStudio and default_download_IC_1_Sigma() to point the differences in the next days.

Besides this,

I wish a great holidays week and many blessings

Best Regards

Juliano
