Here https://wiki.analog.com/resources/tools-software/sigmastudio/toolbox/nonlinearprocessors/advancedclip not provided any parameters description. So, how to control it from external CPU? Playing with this module and looking to capture window I found next:

SoftClipNew1tau - treshold value,

SoftClipNew1onemtau - (1 - treshold value), it is clear from capture window as well as from parameter name,

SoftClipNew1p1val - seems it always constant,

SoftClipNew1thRange1 - seems it always constant too,

SoftClipNew1scale - unknown.

So, what we need to calculate and load to registers? I think enough 3 parameters, SoftClipNew1tau, SoftClipNew1onemtau, unknown SoftClipNew1scale, and don't touch another two.

Thanks.

Andy

Hello Andy,

There are only three things you need to write out. The Capture Window is writing too much information so it is only a little helpful to see.

You need to write the following:

Tau,

1-Tau

1/(1-Tau)

The range of Tau needs to be within the values of 0.1 and 0.9 and can include these values.

If you look at the variable names it is clear what they are once you know the variable naming convention.

Tau is labeled as SoftClipS300Algtau, The test before it will vary based on the name of your cell.

1-Tau is labeled as SoftClipS300Algonemtau. (Note: ONE Minus TAU)

1/(1-Tau) is labeled as SoftClipS300Alginv_onemtau. (Note: INVerse of ONE Minus TAU)

The other two block writes to the table values, p1Val and the Range1 do not change and do not need to be written every time the Tau is changed. This is what SigmaStudio is doing and should not be doing.

Here is a screenshot of the writes:

Thank you Dave, it seems clear now.
