ADAU1761 DSP control of PGA

I have been using the ALC in the register section and it works great. I just realized that the detect does not not work independently when both channels are active together (stereo mode)

So I would like to convert to DSP controlled. My software uses the Volume control on the differential input, that works well. My question is, when using the DSP control what is the range of input value to the AIGC output? Does it write to the same register as the volume control? Seems to be a 6 bit number in the register section.

please advise how many bytes are sent to the AIGC and what is the range of value for the numbers and in that range what the DB range is.
