Hello,

I am using EVAL-ADAU1x61EBZ with the ADAU1761 chip.

I want to implement the CRC functionality, but I don't get it to work. (GPIO0 doesn't go HIGH when I corrupt program RAM by sending 5 corrupt bytes)

From Sigma Studio:

Now, when I send 5 bogus bytes to program RAM, I would expect the CRC to trigger causing GPIO0 to go high, but it stays low.

ADI_REG_TYPE corruptData[5] = { 0xcc, 0xcc, 0xcc, 0xcc, 0xcc };
SIGMA_WRITE_REGISTER_BLOCK(DEVICE_ADDR_IC_1, PROGRAM_ADDR_IC_1, 5, (ADI_REG_TYPE*) &corruptData);

Have I misunderstood how CRC should work? Am I doing something wrong?

I am checking the GPIO port on J6 on the eval board, pin #4 (DAC_SDATA / GPIO0) which is straight from pin #27 on the ADAU1761.

edit: I attached my project folder

Hello davyp3,

This is something that nobody has ever asked about so I setup my own test and found the same results as you did. I actually also went to the extreme of clearing out the entire program and still no action on the GPIO.

So this needs to be escalated to design to research. The problem is that this part is older and all the original designers have moved on so someone new needs to open up the design and figure it out. So this will require a lot of effort and expense. So I looked up your profile to see who you are working for and you have no information and only a general mailbox. Send me a PM and let me know who you are working for and the details of the project you are working on.

Thanks,

Dave T
