Any Engineer that can help with ADAU1701
Hi There,
I am just going to ask this question again as previously i had been unclear, Just some background below.
Portable Bluetooth Speaker with DSP
Trying to implement a 5 band Graphic EQ in sigma Studio
Volume Control via Potentiometer
If possible Bass/Treble controls via pots
I am new to DSP and Audio configuration (very very new) but i have managed to set up my Amplifier Board in Sigma Studio as can be seen below:
To fill the gap between the volume control and the powered outputs, i want to add in a simple 5 Band Graphic EQ with fixed frequencies ( I might need some tutoring on how i select the five fixed frequencies, also with the Q factor and Gain and appropriate Bandwidth).
I apologize in advance for asking so much just i am completely new to this and have an upcoming project deadline and just need help (alot) in getting the software side complete.
Hello Sean2022,
I can give you a few examples to get you started but there will be a lot more details needed. However, one step at a time...
Also, there are many ways to do things in SigmaStudio and there are a ton of examples for the ADAU1701 on the forum so searching might be helpful.
Here is a project I put together as a graphic EQ example. The eval board only has one AUXADC pot so I used DC cells for the other bands. But like I said above, this is a starting point.

Here is how you do a volume control using a POT
ADAU1701 GPIO Volume.dspproj
You can also do a volume control with push buttons if you have the GPIO pins available. With the Bluetooth you will be using a lot of them for the serial interface. More on that later...

Bask to the GPIO.
The serial port uses a lot of the MP pins. Then you need four for the AUXADCs for the pots. So you may run out of pins or have a conflict with MP pins such that you need two of the functions that are on the same pin. So you need to do a study on this.
Then if you need five bands of EQ level and one volume control, there are only four AUXADCs. So you would have to somehow bank these to work for different functions or use a port expander. I am not sure exactly how to do that without a controller. Then of course you could employ a system controller to read a bunch of pots then send the levels to the DSP. That is also possible.
So you have a lot of options here.
