MauLuce Question

Hi there, I'm Maurizio from Rome, Italy, I'm beginning to use Analog Devices boards but I'm a newby in such a world, therefore
please forgive me if I'll not be too clear: moreover, english is
not my mothertongue...
Anyway, I use SigmaStudio, and I have some AD boards in my Lab:
- ADAU1966AZ (16 chans board)
- ADUSB2EBZ (USBi interface)
- EVAL SDP-CB1Z (USB interface)
and a couple of questions about these items.

First question:
What I need to do is some "sound bouncing" among the channels: I
mean I'd like to send an input to chan-1, then the same
input to chan-2, some millisecond later, and so on, in order to simulate the physical shifting of a sound source; I could have the sound file somewhere on the PC, and let Sigmastudio pick it up, but can't find in Sigmastudio any delay function, which is not very short ( I need several milliseconds, as you can imagine), in any case what I found seems to be too short for what I need. How could I find a solution to this problem? I don't know if this can be useful, but I can put LabView, in the PC I'm actually using with SigmaStudio.

Second question:
As I wrote before, in my lab there is an EVAL SDP-CB1Z board, too. I see, it phisically matches with ADAU1966 board, and I'm wondering if they can work together, and if this could be somehow useful, instead of using the ADUSB2EBZ

Thanks for your attention, please forgive me for my silly questions and, again, for my poor english.
Best regards
Maurizio, Rome 00162, Italy

Hello Maurizio,

The first thing is you are not using any DSP here for processing. All you have is an interface boards and a DAC. The ADUSB2EBZ USBi will just convert signals from an USB protocol to I2C/SPI protocol. EVAL SDP-CB1Z is an interface board that is intended to be used as a high speed converters. ADAU1966AZ is just a DAC with 16 channels. You must have a DSP to process your signal.

Your English is pretty good.

Kindly do reply if you need anything.

Regards,

Harish

Hi Harish, Maurizio,

I will let you discuss the application of the ADAU1966, please let me know if there are any questions specific to the SDP-B (EVAL-SDP-CB1Z).

Regards,

David
