Parametric Equalizer reset to default
Hi ADI Tech Support,
good day. we seek clarification on parametric equalizer.
is there any commands or options that resets the parametric equalizer to default settings?
for the use case, an external microcontroller will issue SPI commands to reset the parametric equalizer then load new filter values to the PEQ.

Hello Joshua,
why do you want to reset the parameters of the PEQ?
If you want to change the filter response, then you can directly write the new values (co-effs) into the memory that will override the previous one.
Those parameters that I marked above is derived from the co-effs of the particular filter (in this case, address 44 to 48). So, you can directly load the new co-effs values into the memory for your new filter setting by using safe load method.
If you add a new filter, then that co-effs addresses will also be available in the capture window. So, if you have a bunch of filters, you can individually access (you can read from/write to the address) the co-effs of each filter from an external uC. if you want to write a lot of parameters at the same time then you have to mute the outputs and perform block writes.
if you want to calculate filters co-eff for the filters available here, then it can be calculated by the formula given in this page.
Kindly do reply if you have any queries.

HI Harish
Thanks for looking into this case. Now that you mention it, directly writing new values into the PEQ makes a lot of sense.
In the use case, there are about 4 or more modes, each PEQ has different filter co-eff values.
Some modes have 4 co-eff values, some have 6 co-eff values.
Say, when switching from PEQ mode with 6 co-eff values to PEQ with 4 co-eff values, there are 2 more co-eff values which needs to be removed or bypassed (turned off).
Based on the above scenario, switching from a PEQ mode with more co-eff values to PEQ mode with less co-eff values (any bigger values to smaller values), how to remove the extra co-eff values?
My idea is, resetting the PEQ will leave it with the default 1 co-eff value, and loading the new PEQ co-eff values will have the DSP work in new PEQ mode.
Otherwise, getting a maximum count of co-eff values then update new co-eff values and bypass the remainder co-eff values would work too.
