I'm getting started designing a board with the ADAU1462 and I'd like to avoid adding an EEPROM on board if possible and instead opt to program it from the microprocessor that acts as its I2C controller. Is this functionality supported or will I have to incorporate an EEPROM on board?

Hello YutongGu,

Yes, you can boot/program the DSP from an external controller and can control the parameters in real time. There are separate control ports for self boot EEPROM and uC control. You have to use the slave control port to program the DSP from a uC either by I2C or SPI.

If you want to know more about interfacing uC with sigmaDSP, then please visit this wiki page.

Regards,

Harish
