ADAU1787 I2S output?
I want to use ADAU1787 for use in a stereo 2-way application that utilizes I2S input, and output by I2S and both DACs. The problems I have run into:
Using SigmaDSP Serial Audio input, no signal is coming in.
I have selected SPT0 IN1 as input signal
I am using APx525 with DSIO to source I2S, connected to J4
It appears that APx-DSIO is set up correctly — 24b, 48kHz, 12.288MHz, I2S
I have verified audio from analog input to DAC output (SDSP OUT1)
It is not clear how to route signal to SDATAO0 in SPORT0
There is no Serial Port 0 output available in the IO Tool Tree
Does DSPOUT route directly to SDATAO0?
Is there a basic signal flow I should be following for ADAU1787? Is it possible to use I2S in AND I2S out on the same SAI? I have been reading SigmaStudio documentation to learn as quickly as possible, but after reading discussion on other DSPs, I think there might be a sample project out there ready to answer these questions. I will keep reading in the meantime!
THANKS!

I have made a little bit of progress fiddling around in the register controls. In SPT_CTRL, I was able to change Ctrl2 to lead BCLK and FCLK. For reasons that are not fully clear, stereo output from APx DSIO right comes in on input 1 and left comes in on input 6. Now I have audio input from DSIO, and it is fully functional in Sigma Studio.
The question that remains is how do I route audio OUT to either of the SPORTs? It doesn't appear that DSPOUT routes to SDATAO0/1, and it's not clear how I actually wire that in Sigma Studio. Any help?
DaveThib — Is there a quick way to get I2S output from ADAU1787? There are pins on the SPORT headers, but it's not clear how to make it work in Sigma Studio 4.7. Can you help?
Hello robbzimmerman,
I do not have many files for this DSP like I do for the others. I do have these that do involve the serial ports a little so have a look.

DaveThib — These helped in a sense. They inspired me to look into the register maps in the data sheet to find anything related to SAIx. I found under PWR_CTRL there is a grouping, SaiClkPwr, that nominally turns off SAI1 clock power. Switch that on, and you have SAI1 clocks. The next step is in SPT_CTRL, under Spt1, you can set the SAI1 audio format in Ctrl1 and clock direction and polarity under Ctrl2, and the set output routing for each channel under Routex.
This is now functional!
Great!! Glad you got it working!
Now I know it is important to turn on the power for some reason? LOL. What is the first rule of troubleshooting? Is the power cord plugged in?
Sometimes it is so easy to miss the obvious.
Hope the rest of the project goes smoothly.

Hello robbzimmerman,
I'm having kind of the same issue. Do you happen to still have the project with the solution? If so, would you mind sharing it?
Thanks.
