ADAU1701 output signal no sound
Hello everyone,
I'm using the ADAU1701 for my PCB design, and I need to get out a signal when there is no sound.
Because I'm using a class D amplifiers (TAS6422E and TAS5825P) heating when it's not in "standby mode".
So I need to get out a signal high or low level when there is sound or not (managed by ESP32 to send the signal to the amplifiers).
I think we need to use a "IF" module but I'm not sure.
Can you help me with it ?
Best regards,

Hello Novelli,
I will include a couple of examples that do similar things. It will be up to you to combine these into a project that does exactly what you want. These examples were written a while back but does show the techniques.
This first one does a few extra things. It has two timers. One to hold an external amp or codec in reset for five seconds after power up. Then it will release the reset.
Then there is another timer to wait another second before releasing a "mute" pin. So this project uses two different GPIO pins so you can see how to set those up.

The next project is a squelch, or gating, project that shuts off the audio in the DSP when the signal is below a threshold.
What I want you to focus on in this project is the Signal Detect block. It is designed pretty much for what you are doing. It will turn on right away once the audio is above the threshold setting. Then it will shut off when the signal is below the threshold for the length of time set in the trigger time setting. This is in seconds and 2 seconds is the minimum time. ( there is a way to work around this but for your use it should be no issue) You may want it to mute the amp after a longer time than 2 seconds of inactivity.
The work you have to do is use the Signal Detect block to drive the GPIO shown in the first project.

That is your homework assignment.
